As a result of her mother’s relationship with Shaun Ryder, Coco was born in Manchester.

One of Ryder’s six offspring from four different women is Coco.

Ryder’s past of addiction is widely known; he spoke about it in his autobiography Twisting My Melon. Coco’s mother raised her as a single mom.

According to Coco, she does not have a relationship with her father

“I don’t have a relationship with my father,” she says.

“I’m getting to know some of my brothers and sisters now, but my father is kind of in his own world. He also has a bit of that rock star lifestyle, so it was never really going to work. I do love him though, and I see a lot of myself in him. Even from a distance I can recognise his cheeky attitude, which is reflected in me even though we don’t really know each other.”

Coco adores her lovely mother, claiming that she is the most important person in her life.

They used to move around a lot, and Coco attended seven different schools before they settled in Majorca, where Oriole is currently working on a children’s book.

She’d always been creative and enjoyed drawing, which aided her when she quit school at the age of 15.

Due to her dyscalculia, a particular learning condition that affects math and numbers, she found it challenging.
