Sarath Babu was an Indian actor who worked with Tamil and Telugu cinema. He was famous for appearing in movies like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and other Malayalam and Hindi films.

Sarath Babu debuted with the Tamil film Nizhal Nijamagiradhu (1978), directed by K. Balachander. He had eight Nandi awards in his career. Sarath Babu lived from  July 31, 1951, to May 22, 2023. He was born in  Amadalavalasa, India, and held an Indian Nationality.

Sarath Babu died at age 71 at AIG Hospital, Hyderabad, Telangana on 22 May 2023. He reportedly died due to sepsis and multiple organ failure from multiple myeloma. The deceased married an Indian actress, Rama Prabha from 1981 to 1988. He moved on to marry Sneha Nambiar in 1990 and divorced her in 2011.  Sarath Babu is survived by his four children.
