English actor Jack Whitehall met English actress Gemma Chan, known for her roles in TV drama Humans and films Crazy Rich Asians and Marvel’s The Eternals in 2011 when they both starred in the British comedy-drama series, Fresh Meat. 

After dating for six years, the couple broke up in December 2017, reportedly due to difficulties in reconciling differences and working around their hectic filming schedules.

The 33-year old English comedian admitted to “messing up” his chance of marrying Gemma Chan. Whitehall added while speaking on the Netflix show Travels With My Father in 2020 that he could have married Chan if he wanted to.
